Job Description:
We are seeking a talented, bilingual Pastry Chef to join our dynamic teaching team. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional pastry skills with engaging instructional abilities, capable of teaching both adult and children’s classes in French and English.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and lead pastry and baking classes (evenings and Saturdays) for adults and for children
– Demonstrate advanced French pastry techniques, bread making, chocolate moulding, cake decoration, and alternative diet baking
– Ensure a safe, fun, and educational learning environment
– Prepare ingredients and teaching materials
– Maintain kitchen equipment and teaching spaces
Qualifications:
– Advanced pastry arts expertise
– Specialized in: French pastry techniques, Viennoiserie, Bread making, Chocolate moulding
– Gluten-free and dairy-free baking techniques (asset)
– Bilingual (English and French)
Educational Requirements:
– Culinary/pastry arts diploma
– Teaching experience preferred
– Food safety certification
– Red Seal certification (asset)
Professional Skills:
– Excellent communication abilities in French and English
– Patient and engaging teaching style
– Strong classroom management skills
– Creativity in recipe development
– Ability to adapt instruction for different age groups
– Expertise in alternative baking for dietary restrictions
Requirements:
– Minimum 3 years professional pastry experience
– Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and must possess a valid work permit for Ontario at the time of application
– Proven teaching or workshop leadership background
– Current food handling certification
– Clean criminal record check (working with children)
– Experience with specialized dietary baking (gluten-free, dairy-free) preferred

Part-Time Pastry Chef Instructor
15 – 20 hours a week
Starting at $25 per hour
Part-time teaching position for a qualified Pastry Chef. Must be bilingual (English and French) and be able work evenings – Monday thru Thursday – and afternoons in the summer (July-August) to teach our summer camps.
Responsibilities
Deliver programming on French Cuisine pastry techniques in English and in French to adults and children.
Recipe development, ingredient and equipment prep (mise-en-place).
Help in post-event cleanup.
Produce desserts and other dishes as required for classes and specialty boutique.
