Last evening, November 7, Mike and Judy took a in person cooking class and learned how to prepare French Macarons at C’est Bon Cooking School located in Ottawa’s Byward Market. French macarons are sweet meringue-based confection made with egg whites, icing sugar, almond meal and it is a sandwich cookie filled with a flavoured ganache. Chefs Georges and Stefanie were our hosts for an evening of fun and new experiences. Chef Stefanie instructed us on how to prepare perfect Macarons, with a few tips that she has learned over the years. Everyone went home with a small box of macarons that we prepared ourselves from start to finish. Thanks to both Chefs for hosting this class last evening. Chef Stefanie you are a great teacher!

I have taken and enjoyed quite a few of the cooking classes. The six week basics course was my first one, and it got me hooked. I have attended knife skills, stocks and sauces, deboning poultry, deboning fish, several friday nights couples classes, baking bread, baking macarons, and, frankly, I've lost count. Now I'm taking the next level of home cooking, a six course series again. My household is greatly appreciative of the skills I now use routinely. My grocery bill is cut by 25%, and the flavours that go on the plate is up by 500%. I produce much less garbage and recycle containers, and I almost never get takeout food anymore. C'est bon and its instructors have changed our lives and I am so very grateful! I highly advise any of the courses, you will learn techniques that simple, and you and your guests will thoroughly enjoy what you learn, time and time again.

We had a wonderful experience at C'est Bon! Chef Georges is an excellent teacher and creates an enjoyable and relaxed learning environment. The class size was small, very well organized and the food we made was delicious. The cost of the course is great value! We will be back for more classes!
